Critical Reflection

For this effective communication module, I wanted to achieve some goals that I set. My first goal was to learn structural and mental preparation for public speaking. My second goal was to get confidence in speaking out and have an interactive presentation with the audience. For presentation preparation, I had difficulty preparing fully to present smoothly with confidence. Throughout this module, I had many opportunities to speak out in front of my classmates. These opportunities made me get used to the environment. It mentally helped me in being less nervous during presentations and in getting some confidence in speaking out. Gaining confidence in speaking out in front of people is not only about getting used to public speaking. I learned how to structure myself what is my opinion and how I want to express it to people. It well prepared me to be confident in the content that I will be speaking. Moreover, I also prepared a script, but I tried not to memorize the script in case of forge

The article “Drones Take Their Place on the Cutting Edge of Wildfire Fighting” (Patterson, 2021) states that “Lifesaving backpack technology as sophisticated as this isn’t available to firefighters. But it could be soon, as engineers work to take firefighting drones to new heights”. He mentions that drones have been developed to locate a fire's hot spots and set controlled flames to minimise possible wildfire fuel. He also explains that the KHawk drone is designed to fly autonomously with ground control while transmitting weather and fire data, including forecasts of where the flames will spread next. Ideally, firemen would receive an early alert if they were in danger. He states that Firefighters are using drones to employ an intentional ignition approach to burn vegetation that might generate fuel for wildfires. Commercial drone platforms outfitted with payload system IGNIS carries a basket filled with ignition spheres. These spheres are used to set up controlled burns. Drones

But it could be soon, as engineers work to take firefighting drones to new heights.”. Ideally, firefighters should be able to fully manage and control wildfires. However, “summer wildfire seasons are getting longer and more devastating.”, and it increases severe wildfires. Drones should take place in controlling wildfire as it will save a lot of resources.   Firstly, Patterson mentions that drones have been developed to locate a fire's hot spots and collect important data from wildfire areas. Patterson also explains that the KHawk drone is designed to fly autonomously with ground control while transmitting weather and fire data, including forecasts of where the flames will spread next. Ideally, firefighters would receive an early alert if they were in danger, and they would b

Soul of Communication

Students are encouraged to make mistakes and learn from them while given the opportunity to re-do. However, in workplaces, you’re judged quickly based on your mistakes and it’s quickly passed down through the chains of communication. Time being the most precious currency in the workplace, the standard set is to work as efficiently as possible. This also frees you up to venture into other schemes to earn more.   For projects, the leader needs to have effective communication skills while being able to control the flow of work and motivate the peers to deliver their best performance. This is done by thinking critically, logically and with clarity. This will aid in delivering instructions without any unclear points which will boost the work performance.

ASSIGNMENT #2: (DESIGN) SUMMARY & READER RESPONSE (ANALYSIS), PART 1 (1ST DRAFT)

Summary: The article “Drones Take Their Place on the Cutting Edge of Wildfire Fighting” (2021) states that “Summer wildfire seasons in North America are getting longer and more devastating.” Drones have long been used to fight wildfires. Unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) were first used by the US Department of Interior a decade ago to help map fires and determine their course. Recently, drones have been developed to locate a fire's hot spots and set controlled flames to minimise possible wildfire fuel. The KHawk drone is designed to fly autonomously with ground control while transmitting weather and fire data, including forecasts of where the flames will spread next. Ideally, firemen would receive an early alert if they were in danger. Firefighters are using drones to employ an intentional ignition approach to burn vegetation that might generate fuel for wildfires.
